SNAP

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) is an entrance test for the admission to all the Post-Graduate Institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed) University.

From last year SNAP is to be conducted as an Online test! Since 2007, candidates aspiring to join MBA programs offered by institutes of Symbiosis International University had to take the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test in the paper-based format.

The registration process for SNAP and institutes is now simplified. Aspirants can now complete the SNAP as well as program registrations in the same portal.

Eligibility

  • Graduate from any recognized / statutory University or Institute with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST). Programmes which require specific discipline/ subject specialisation need to be checked for eligibility as given by the respective Institute.
  • A candidate who has completed qualifying degree from any Foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). All foreign degrees/ qualifications need to be verified from AIU by the candidate before seeking admission to any programme of SIU.  Evaluation Division of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) issues equivalence certificate for foreign degrees/qualifications. Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.

NMAT

NMAT is the entrance exam for admission to all the MBA Full time courses of NMIMS Mumbai and PGDM courses of Hyderabad, Bangaluru, Navi Mumbai & Pune.

A candidate can take NMAT up to a maximum 3 times but there should be a gap of at least 15 days between two successive attempts.

For candidate having multiple attempts, the best sore (total and sectional) is considered for shortlisting purposes.

The result for each attempt is declared separately, approximately 15 days after the test attempt.

Eligibility :-

 The candidate must be a graduate with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in first attempt. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply subject to clearing the final examination in first attempt with 50% aggregate marks. For all the Full Time programs, candidates with two or more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred.

CET

MAH-CET MBA entrance test is an online computer based examination having duration of 150 minutes (2.5 hrs) and consisting of 200 questions in MCQ (multiple choice questions) format. There is no negative marking in MAH-CET MBA entrance examination. There are around 300-plus B-schools including JBIMS Mumbai, SIMSREE, PUMBA, K J Somaiya, Welingkar’s and so on, which are participating in CAP (Centralized Allotment Process) and would offer admission in accordance with seat matrix and B-school allotment through multiple rounds of CAP

The admission to the management courses such as MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM is a centralized process and carried out by the Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra (usually the Directorate of Technical Education or DTE).

Eligibility

  • Passed minimum Three-year Duration Bachelor’s Degree awarded by any of the Universities recognized by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent (at least 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) or its equivalent; OR
  • Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s degree to be awarded by any of the Universities recognized by University Grants Commission or Association of Indian Universities in any discipline.

Examination Schedule CET examination is usually conducted in the month of March.

Examination fees Rs.1000 for Open Category students and Rs.800 for reserved category students.

CAT

Common Admission Test (popularly known as the CAT) is the mother of all MBA entrance exams in India. Considered as the toughest entrance exam in the world, CAT is taken by more than 2 lakh MBA aspirants in India. One of the important features of CAT is its dynamic nature. An old saying goes: 'If CAT doesn't surprise you, you should be surprised!". As the CAT has become online, the nature of questions has not changed though the pattern has changed

  • The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in management courses of several management institutes all over India including the IIMs
  • The CAT score is used separately by each institute along with other parameters i.e. academic performance, work experience, group discussion, written assessment and interview performance etc. to select candidates. The weightage assigned to CAT score may differ for each institute. Candidates are advised to read the weightage, process and breakup for each institute on its respective website.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be a graduate with 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of SC/ST/DA/PWD) or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the ministry of HRD, Government of India.
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree / equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. (Candidate if selected needs to submit a certificate latest by 30th June 2015 from the Principal/Registrar of College/Institute stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate.)

CMAT

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The CMAT is a three-hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. This test facilitates institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all management programs. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved B-Schools in India.

Eligibility :-

For Management 2 years programs (PGDM, MBA programs and similar): Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 Yrs duration Obtained at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination. Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.

CMAT Exam paper pattern

Test mode : Computer Based Test

Conducted :  Once a year in the month of January.

Duration : 180 mins (3hrs)

Marking scheme : 4 marks each for every question, 1 mark negative marking for every wrong answer.

GMAT

GMAT is a computer adaptive test that is required by most international business schools and prestigious institutes such as Indian School of Business. GMAT constitutes an important part of the selection process at business schools and hence, it is imperative to score well in the test. The test consists of three sections -AWA, Math and Verbal. The AWA section consists of two essays - analysis of issue and analysis of argument and a student gets one hour to write these essays.The math section would have 21 questions in problem solving that would test various quantitative concepts and 16 questions in data sufficiency to test the students' logical ability. The verbal section consists of questions interspersed on reading comprehension, critical reasoning and sentence correction.

Where can the GMAT score be used?

The GMAT score is globally accepted by all business schools in USA, Europe (including UK), Australia and Singapore. In India, institutes such as ISB, Great Lakes, SP Jain and Mica amongst others accept the GMAT score
